Fire & Ice in the San Juans

It’s elemental; this week on KRKQ/MountainChill® we’re celebrating fire and ice.

The Ouray Ice Festival takes place January 14th -17th at the Ouray Ice PArk in Ouray, CO.  [Photo (c) Eric Funk]
While Telluride celebrates fire, on the other side of the ridge, Ouray will be celebrating ice. The Ouray Ice Festival is ice climbing’s premier yearly event. During the festival, Ouray is an absolute ice climbing mecca. Ice climbers, both novice and pro will travel from around the world to celebrate the growing sport. This year’s festival will be highlighting the great women of ice climbing.

And yes, we’ll once again be providing sound (and spinning tunes) for the Ice Fest, so stop by and see us at the sound booth right by the bridge. We’ll even have a limited number of official Mountainchill® Tees and stickers to give to listeners who stop by to say “hello.”
